It has been a WHILE!

Hello, all loyal Bell House customers or all new customers checking out the website. It has been quite a while since we have blogged about anything exciting, or anything at all for that matter! But don't be quick to think that nothing exciting has been happening, because that is quite the opposite! Actually, we try to keep it very eventful!!!

Since the last post (Fall and Winter Menu) we have updated to the spring and summer menu! And whoa is it delicious and causing all of our customers to leave with happy faces!

We have made some additions to our kitchen and to our wait staff. Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome Mikey and Kelsey to our kitchen! They are doing a fabulous job as Chef Johnny shows them how to chop and season with the finest skills! Also, give a warm welcome to Delores and Cynthia who have wowed us with their abilities to greet the customers that walk through our doors and make them feel so welcome. I think they can stir up a conversation about anything!!! Next we have added some servers and bussers, Michele, Morgan, Josh, Hayley, Matthew, and Qiara!!! Some of them have been here for a while, but I have failed to mention them in the past. God has blessed us with an incredible staff of people who work hard and take pride in the quality of the food being served to you and the manner that it is presented. We are so thankful for each one of them.

We hope that your experience at Bell House is always enjoyable and everything that you expected it to be. If you ever have any comments, ways we can improve, or things that you really enjoyed, please let us know! We love feedback, it helps us move in the right direction. The direction that pleases you!!!!

Thank you for your interest in or devotion to Bell House.

New Fall Menu!

Our New fall & winter menu is up and running and is a big hit so far! We have added several sandwiches such as the Reuben, the Tuscan Meatloaf, and the Sloppy Johnny!!

What is the Sloppy Johnny you may ask...and is Johnny really sloppy???? If you have ever eaten at Bell House for dinner, you can see that Johnny is anything BUT Sloppy! Everything is so perfectly placed on the plate that it almost looks too good to eat, but once you get a whif of the meal in front of you, you can't hold back. =)

So even though Johnny is not sloppy, we felt like the "Sloppy Johnny" was an appropriate name for the sandwich that is our Classic Bolognese sauce on a French Roll with melted swiss cheese....ooooh yea....it might get a little messy. And after all it is the chef's creation.....we had to name it after him!

Come try some of our new items..and post on here what you think!!! We would love your feedback...after all!! We couldn't do this without our faithful customers!

Devout customers

We are so thankful to have such wonderful customers who continue coming back! They allow us to be a part of their lives. There is one couple in particular who travel at least 45 minutes here and 45 minutes back home 2-4 times a week! They are here promptly at 11am when we open so they can hear the bell as it echoes into the restaurant and out into the streets of Downtown Shelbyville. They have a special table and are even served a special meal sometimes if Chef Johnny has the fresh ingredients ready! =) The reason why I speak so highly of this couple is because they have been such a blessing to us...Ms. Geneva has written a small poem in honor of Bell House Restaurant that I would like to share with you......

A Wonderful Place

There's this quaint little restaurant nestled in the heart of Shelbyville,

I will tell you all about it, so please bear with me if you will.

The atmosphere inside is just as cozy as can be

This old house was built in 1902 and it's a pretty place to see.

You will be greeted by the hostess with a nice warm smile,

So you won't mind at all if you might have to wait a while.

Yes, you are treated like a friend as you walk in the door,

Okay, hold your horses..I'll be happy to tell you more.

To those of you who enjoy good food at it's very best,

You must go to the Bell House Restaurant and take the test.

The lunch menu includes soup, sandwiches, and chicken salad delight,

And you will satisfy your palate with each and every bite.

The evening menu is yours to enjoy with a delicious fare,

And we hope to see each and everyone of you there.

So come and Chef Johnny will serve you a delicious and pleasant meal,

I guarantee it will be very tasty as well as eye appeal.

Everyone at the Bell House are as friendly as can be,

And if you don't believe it...well, just ask me.

The waitresses, waiters, bus boys, and the entire kitchen staff and all,

Are all very capable, efficient, and right on the ball.

What more can I say..get in your car and come on down,

It's located at 721 Main Street...very close to downtown.

Happy Eating!
