
Bell House Restaurant, one of the finest places to have lunch and dinner in Shelbyville. We are in the heart of Downtown Shelbyville in a home that was fully renovated from 2007-2009 by Bobby and Sue Andriot. If you visit our "History" page, you can read about the progress that this house has been through in the past century. In June 2009, we opened simply serving lunch with Linda Casey-Stevenson as our executive chef. Linda had once owned her own catering business and knew exactly how to coordinate a lunch menu for us and start us out with some wonderful recipes.
With the many requests for more, we decided that lunch was not going to be enough. We needed to serve dinner as well! We began serving dinner in October 2009 with a basic Italian dinner menu. It was delicious...but still not quite enough.
It was then that Chef Johnny Lewis came into the picture to take our ideas about the dinner menu and make them a reality with his chef expertice. He had recently moved back to Shelbyville from New York City where he graduated from the French Culinary Institute. He had been working at Tavern on the Green as the executive sous chef. He was our Executive Chef from October 2009 until October 2011.
Chef Johnny Lewis has moved on to Embassy Suites and his wife, Chef Sheila Lewis, who gratuated from The Art Institute also in New York City has taken over our kitchen for lunch with much enthusiasm! We are so pleased to have her on staff.
Chef Gary Grigsby has taken over as our dinner chef. He has wowed people with his own catering business, and we are so happy he has chosen to help us wow our customers here at Bell House! Be Looking for his new and creative ideas!
We hope that as you enter Bell House, you feel welcomed. Even though we are striving to be fine dining, we still delight in the "down home hospitality" that cannot be surpassed. There is no particular dress code; We will take you as you are. Reservations are not necessary, but they are accepted. Your experience in Bell House should be one that you desire to have again and to tell people about. Good Service, Good Food, and a Beautiful Environment...you can't go wrong!
